Vigor2850 series as a configurable DSL multimode Security Firewall, which support VDSL2 and ADSL2+ on a single WAN interface including Vigor2850, Vigor2850n and Vigor2850Vn embedded with 1-port VDSL2 WAN (ADSL2/2+ fallback), 1-port Giga Ethernet WAN (configured by LAN4) and 1 USB port for 3.5G USB modem provide flexible and future proof connection choices for current and next generation network (NGN) infrastructure. 4-port Gigabit LAN switch facilitates unified communication applications in business CO / remote site to handle large data from subscribed fatter pipe. The state-of-art routing feature, VPN, security, Dual WAN provides integrated benefits for professional users and small offices.

Business users want to lower the total cost of ownership (TCO) while doing tech refresh to update the current router/firewall. Hence, DrayTek makes Vigor2850 Series become IPv6 ready. Existed users just need to upgrade firmware to 3.6.0 without worrying about another expense to get a new IPv6 ready router.

Easy-to-manage and configurable WLAN

Vigor2850n and Vigor2850Vn are embedded with IEEE802.11n WLAN. Besides the encryption methods of WEP/WPA/WPA2 and MAC address control, it also offers wireless LAN isolation, Wireless VLAN and 802.1X authentication. WDS (Wireless Distribution System) can help users extend wireless coverage easily. Moreover, the wireless rate control can adjust the connection rate of each wireless station. The WMM (Wi-Fi multimedia) keeps the priority of voice, video and audio applications in a Wi-Fi network and lowers priority of other network traffic, which is not time-critical such as large file downloading.

Selectable 5G/2.4GHz configuration of Vigor2850n and Vigor2850Vn provides extra choice for SMB to build the WLAN network. In addition to the common 2.4GHz frequency, SMB can configure WLAN network on less congested 5GHz spectrum.

Integration of telephony

Vigor2850Vn provides twin analogue phone and one line port (life line). It supports multiple SIP Registrars with high flexible configuration and call handing options. You can connect your regular analogue line (PSTN/POTS*) to the Line port of Vigor2850Vn. While you enable VoIP facility, you still can access fixed line (analogue line) to make calls just by dialing #0. The phone connected to Line port and two FXS ports can be used for both analogue calls and VoIP calls because the incoming calls are automatically switched through to your telephone(s) (either one or both). As a result, both analogue telephones plugged into your router allow you to access VoIP and analogue line. Furthermore, you can set rules through "Digit Map" function about particular call destinations using either your SIP/VoIP service or the POTS line.

e.g. you can route local calls via your PSTN line (if you have a free calls package) whereas international calls go via your preferred VoIP provider; there is flexibility to have several Digit Map rules.
